Bruno Went Old School For Super Bowl Halftime

by Marc Cuenco

It's hard to top his first appearance two years ago, but Bruno Mars' old school hip-hop outfit at the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show did that, and then some. Even with co-headliners Coldplay and the one and only Beyoncé sharing the stage with him on Sunday night, Mars was — as expected — on his A-game not only musically but also with his black leather outfit and gold chains reminiscent of Run-D.M.C. and N.W.A. Hours before he took the stage, the singer teased his and his band's halftime show ensembles.

"We were gonna rock suits but I changed my mind," Mars said in a Tweet on Sunday. "We posted in the Bay so it's Hammer Time! #Woop #SB50." Mars' appearance at Super Bowl 50 held at Levi's Stadium definitely brought the house down with the help of his band The Hooligans and DJ Mark Ronson. Fans had a feeling that the singer was going to perform his hit "Uptown Funk," but viewers were still treated to one electrifying performance (that included a fun dance/sing-off with Bey).

Two years ago, Mars wore a metallic gold Saint Laurent blazer, skinny tie, and slacks while headlining the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show, but his 2016 outfit was all about '80s rap style:

The black and gold combo also coordinated with Bey's outfit. I'm suddenly obsessed with these two collaborating on a song.

Walk this way, folks.
