How Does She Look So Good Sans Makeup?

There are so many reasons to love-hate Gwyneth Paltrow. She and Coldplay-fronting hubby Chris Martin hang out with Jay-Z and Beyoncé like every other night. She’s got an amazing body that few 41-year-olds — or 25-year-olds, at that — could ever even hope for, and she loves to flaunt it in our faces. She doesn't mind sharing the secrets of how to get that body in her many books, but they're so unattainable as to be almost laughable. (Really, who can eat miso soup for breakfast and dinner every day?).

She’s got a pretty impeccable sense of style, too, though it’s not like we could ever afford half the items she recommends in her weekly GOOP newsletters. And to top it all off, the lady looks unbelievably good wearing little-to-no makeup, which she proved yet again at last night’s Hollywood Stands Up To Cancer event .

Looking as flawless as ever in a cobalt blue cut-out David Koma dress, she showed up rocking a fresh-faced, natural makeup look, complete with nude lips and just the slightest hint of liquid liner and mascara. With her golden-blonde locks casually tousled, the Iron Man star flawlessly delivered her trademark, “I look this amazing without even trying” appearance.

As jealous as we are, we have to give Paltrow credit: There are few stars out there who not only have the guts to show up to a red-carpet event sans-makeup (or at least a face full of it), and even fewer who can pull it off as gloriously as Paltrow.

And the best (or worst) part? She supposedly does it all without tons of injections and plastic surgeries, telling Harper's Bazaar in 2012:

I'll take my wrinkles. I don't like the Botox thing.

So just how does she nail that whole no-makeup-in-public thing? With a lot of hard work, according to an interview last year with Stylist magazine:

I usually deep cleanse and exfoliate my skin four times a week. I get a gentle peel from my facialist that takes away all the dead cells on the surface, and then I focus on moisturization.

Even if we can't attain Paltrow's perfect skin for ourselves, it's at least nice to know it doesn't come easy to her, either.
