What's Lindsay Lohan Doing These Days?

by Caitlyn Callegari

Ever since 1998, when she expertly played a set of mischievous twins in The Parent Trap, we've been used to keeping up with Lindsay Lohan. After all, while her roles as Hallie Parker and Annie James are iconic, her role six years later as Cady Heron in Mean Girls may be even more so. Not to mention her stint as a pop star. (Admittedly, I still listen to her angsty songs sometimes. "Rumors" was just A+.) What I'm trying to say is, she's been around for as long as we can remember and used to be talked about constantly. But what is Lindsay Lohan up to now?

I feel like I haven't heard from the actress in a bit. And considering that Lohan did unfortunately experience some turbulent times in the past, it makes sense that fans, myself included, would want to see how she's doing currently. After all, we did kind of grow up together. If you can recall, the last major event in Lohan's life was when she starred in Speed-the-Plow in 2014 and subsequently moved to London for the role. In fact, as of June 2015, she was even considering British citizenship, according to the Daily Mail. According to the Daily Mail, Lohan explained to Hello Magazine,

I can definitely see myself settling in London permanently ... Moving here was a new start for me and my outlook on life is different now. For me, I feel more comfortable working from London. And it is beautiful. ... I also love exploring different cities and using London as a base means I can go to more places. That's really important to me.

More recently, Lohan has been posting on social media bout a new project she's involved in called The Shadow Within, and despite the lack of a provided synopsis, according to IMDb, it's already in post-production, which means we'll get to see it sooner rather than later. Also, in 2015, Lohan was in a short called, Till Human Voices Wake Us. Per IMDb, the intriguing short was, "Inspired by the Celtic myths of the Selkies — seals in water and enchanting maidens on land — who storm Manhattan when one of their kind falls for a man drowning under the Brooklyn Bridge."

While things are sunny on the career front, Lohan's personal life, on the other hand, looks less clear. Her social media accounts are comprised of (mostly) good natured posts about her family, sweet pictures with both family and friends, and honestly, just various instances of being a regular 29-year-old. It's refreshing to see her doing things as normal as cuddling up on the couch after a particularly harrowing day at the dentist, lighting sparklers to celebrate Christmas with her mom, and taking selfies with her dog.

Not everything is perfect, though. According to Us Weekly, Lohan called out her mom on Instagram but thought better of it and deleted it. Us reported, "The since-deleted post showed a black-and-white version of the actress's Bitmoji dropping a phone, with the text 'We’re Done' scrawled across the image." She reportedly captioned it, "@dinalohan … Sometimes it sucks when your mom isn’t there for you." Sure, it probably wasn't the best course of action, but sometimes families fight. Honestly, it doesn't seem as bad as it was made out to be. Also, per a more recent post of an artsy collage of her mom by her sister, Ali, everything seems to be fine.

In addition to that, Lohan was allegedly involved in a disconcerting altercation at a New York City bar. According to a Radar Online source, Lohan "became aggressive and belligerent" when a bartender tried to get her and her sister out of a bathroom they were inside for 20 minutes. The source alleged that when Lohan came out she started "yelling at the bartender" and talking to him in a "mock African accent and she kept asking him if he was from Ghana." A different source claimed that she also spat in someone's face. Page Six spoke to the bartender involved, and while he won't be pressing charges, he did echo many of the claims from the Radar Online sources. Lohan has not released any public comment on the alleged incident. Bustle has reached out to Lohan's rep for comment, but has not yet heard back.

Hopefully, we'll hear more about Lohan's potential films and projects, and less about any alleged wrongdoings in the future. I hope that the positivity she's been spreading on her social media is the actual approach she's decided to take going forward. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
