All The 'Gilmore Girls' Cast Revival Tweets

by Chloe Kent

After a nearly decade-long hiatus from Stars Hollow, Connecticut, Gilmore Girls is finally coming back. And now, there's photo evidence! While a premiere date has yet to be announced, Netflix announced on January 29th that the Gilmore Girls revival series will run as four 90-minute episodes — mini-movies, if you will. Co-creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino will write and direct all of the episodes, just as they did most seasons of the series with the exception of the seventh.

Even better: The main cast will remain largely just as they were when we first got to know them 16 years ago: Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will reprise their roles as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop are returning as Luke Danes and Emily Gilmore, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena are set to once again play Lane Kim and Kirk Gleason and Matt Czuchry is back as Logan Huntzberger). Noticeably absent from the confirmed lineup? Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie. Last week, the actress tweeted, “Sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow. Wish them all the best!!” Not all is lost for McCarthy fans, however. Sherman-Palladino told TVLine, “If she has a spare moment to run over, we would be totally game. The thing I have said [to her team] is, ‘Look, if Melissa is available and has an afternoon free, I’ll write her a scene.’”

Cast fully confirmed or not, this news is still deeply exciting — for both fans and the stars. In fact, if the social media posts that the stars have shared are anything to go by, they might be just as excited as we fans are at the prospect of returning to Stars Hollow!

Lauren Graham

Without question, I'd steal that from the costume department, too. I'd probably have to stop myself from taking anything adorned with 'property of,' if we're being honest.

Yanic Truesdale

Dragonfly Inn, Michel speaking.

The French-Canadian actor also shared this shot from a recent table read.

John Cabrera

I can only imagine, John. I can only imagine.

Alexis Bledel

Do you think Graham calls Bledel AB, or is this just an LG-specific thing?

Keiko Agena

An early hint that the revival was on: The real Lane Kim, Helen Pai, with her television counterpart, Lane Kim, aka Keiko Agena.

Scott Patterson

That's right: Luke's Diner is back in business!

Which of your favorite cast members are you most excited to catch up with? (Please say Lane Kim.)
