Spend Valentine's Day In A Romantic NYC Location

The New York Public Library has a new tool to make it easy for book nerds to find their perfect Valentine's Day date locations. The map of fictional romances is a great place to start if you're looking for the best place in the city to celebrate Valentine's Day with your partner, and it offers you the added bonus of some great book recommendations — you know, if you're into reading with your significant other.

To put together its map, the NYPL "asked [its] book experts to name their favorite romantic scenes that take place in the city." The results are fairly simple, with one book chosen for each location, 25 locations in all.

Some of the book experts' suggestions are pretty par-for-the-course, like Great Neck's The Great Gatsby. But do you remember the library scene in Breakfast at Tiffany's? How about the museum scenes in The Age of Innocence and The Rosie Project?

Then, of course, there are the romances that involve very specific places in the city, places that — if you're like me, and not in or around NYC at all — you might not even know are real. If you read Dash & Lily's Book of Dares and Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist and dreamed of bookstore scavenger hunts and 24-hour hotdog stands, you can combine both into a great date by visiting both The Strand and Gray's Papaya!

Check out the NYPL's interactive map and let us know what your bookish Valentine's Day plans involve.
