'Happy Endings' Jokes From the Cutting-Room Floor

by Caroline Pate

Anyone who's ever watched Happy Endings knows that the show is like a well-oiled machine, pumping out weird, referential jokes about every 30 seconds. And anyone who's ever watched Happy Endings also knows the pain that came with the news that the show was not only canceled by ABC, but was also passed over by USA.

Ease your pain, my friends. The show may be dead, but the jokes still live on in this Happy Endings writer's Twitter.

And who knows -- although the cast has been released from their contracts, they all seem pretty willing to stick with the show, and Sony TV may still find someone interested in the series. Streaming services like Netflix, Amazon or Hulu would be a good fit for a well-written show with a devoted cult following, and we've already seen the results from similarly canceled-too-soon show Arrested Development.

In the meantime, fans can only tweet at Lon Zimmet, who's been identified by the Happy Endings writer's Twitter and former Happy Endings writer Jackie Clarke's twitter as the executive in charge of the show's pickup (although he has some IMDB credits writing and producing the show, so it may just be an attempt to garner more support for Happy Endings).

Yeah, we regret it too.
