Let's Talk About Kanye West's Net Worth

Well, if Kanye West truly wanted everyone focused on his finances, his wish came true. For those unaware, the rapper tweeted about being $53 million in debt and even reached out to Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg for a helping hand. No, this isn't the plot to the next Social Network, but something that actually happened. West tweeted, "I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt... Please pray we overcome... This is my true heart..." Then, bizarrely, he added, "Mark Zuckerberg invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas." Thanks to this Twitter rant (one of many West has had as of lately), I'm sure many are wondering, what is Kanye West's net worth?

In not-so-shocking news, West definitely doesn't appear to be short of cash. According to Celebrity Net Worth, West's net worth is $145 million. If that is truly The Life of Pablo musician's worth, then I think it's safe to say he isn't in debt. Even if you ask COED, as of 2015, West is worth $180 million. Not to mention, in 2014, Forbes listed him as earning an estimated annual $30 million.

That said, there could be more than meets the eye to whatever West is spilling on Twitter. West is no stranger when it comes to spending a lot. Remember that time he bought his wife, Kim Kardashian, 150 Christmas presents? How about that time he bought her a ton of flowers, including a wall of roses? Or that time it was reported that Kimye purchased four gold-plated toilets for $765,000.

If that's not enough, Page Six reported in February 2016 that West is overspending and looking for someone to invest in his Yeezy fashion line. "Kanye is spending a lot of money," a source told Page Six. "He thinks on a big scale and is currently paying for everything himself. He needs a backer to help him achieve the kind of fashion-world domination he is aiming for."

It's hard to imagine that the 38-year-old is facing any kind of "personal debt," especially when his albums sell fast, he's successful in the fashion world, and he's married to Kardashian (though, according to a People source, their finances are kept separate). For example, after collaborating with Adidas, it was reported that his shoes were worth around $10 million as of 2013. Not to mention, his Yeezus tour made $25 million from just 18 dates and was one of the highest-grossing tours of 2013. It's not like West isn't able to make it rain.

If you combine his net worth with Kardashian's (per Celebrity Net Worth, she is worth $85 million), that's a whole lot of money. Kimye are seemingly rolling in the dough, for sure.

Now, more so than ever, his net worth definitely can't be ignored, especially when he's tweeting about his money struggles on social media. Basically, everyone can talk about the rapper and his money all day, every day, but in the end this will probably be West's response:
