Becca Is Trying Hard To Be 'The Bachelorette'

by Nicole Pomarico

Monday's episode of The Bachelor was the dividing line between who goes to hometown dates and who doesn't, which meant that Ben started the week with six women and had to narrow it down to four by the time the rose ceremony rolled around. After letting Emily go after a one-on-one date that didn't go the way he had hoped it would, Ben eliminated Becca on The Bachelor during the rose ceremony. And, as someone who's been on The Bachelor twice, you'd think she would be used to this kind of really, really harsh rejection, but she was just as disappointed as if this was her first round. Fans felt for her rejection, with some even calling for Becca to be the 2016 Bachelorette. And, she did have a pretty good audition for it when she walked away from Ben.

From the minute Ben gave that final rose to Caila, Becca immediately seemed pretty pissed that he'd waited that long to cut her free if he didn't feel that connection with her, especially since she'd made it clear that she didn't want him to drop her out of the blue. But, don't worry — the speech that followed after she got in the limo proves that she's ready for Bachelorette-dom.... and most of all, finding love that would last a lifetime, which is why she came on this show in the first place.

"It's just so frustrating," she said once she got in the car to leave. "It makes me feel like, why would I keep putting myself in this position? I want someone that can love me back. I don't wanna be alone."

I hear ya, Becca. To me, she's incredibly brave for putting herself through the Bachelor process two seasons in a row, even though she knew how brutal it could be. Someone who's that willing to put herself out there in the name of true love deserves to find what she's looking for, so I think it's about time ABC pulled the trigger and made her the next Bachelorette. What do you say, Mike Fleiss? Can we make this happen?

It's truly a bummer that things didn't work out between Becca and Ben, but at least he ended their relationship before it would have been even more heartbreaking for her. She's right — she deserves someone who will love her as much as she loves him, and now, she has the opportunity to get back out there and find him — hopefully on the next Bachelorette installment.
