She's Giving Miley a Run For Her Money

Oscar award winner Dame Helen Mirren was named the 2014 Hasty Pudding Award winner for Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the university's theater troop. On Thursday, Mirren paraded through Harvard Square with drag actors before getting roasted and receiving Harvard's ceremonial pudding pot. The award goes to someone who has made a huge contribution to the theater world, and now Mirren can add something else to her resume besides acting: twerking. During the Hasty Pudding Awards ceremony, Helen Mirren was asked to twerk. "I tried in my bedroom. It was absolutely humiliating," Mirren says.

However, Mirren finally caved and started twerking. Miley Cyrus better watch out, because Mirren is 68-years-old and knows how to work it, which makes me love her even more.

Mirren also revealed that along with the rest of the planet, she really admires Beyonce.

I thinks [Beyonce] is quite extraordinary. I had the great opportunity to be on the same stage as her, not on the same time, but I was in the wings, at the Kennedy Center Honors, and she was performing, and I was kind of watching her prepare, Mirren says. She had this incredible sense of concentration and energy and preparation. I was very impressed by that. Standing in the wings watching her was this explosion of energy. Quite spectacular.

Mirren was also asked to give love advice to "all the single ladies" out there.

"My advice to single women probably is to stay single as long as you can," Mirren says.

Mirren turned toward her husband, Taylor Hackford, and continued:

I love you darling. And you know a relationship is a wonderful thing, but it's not necessary to be happy and successful in life.

Damn. She twerks and gives amazing advice? Helen Mirren, you win.
