Ashley Olsen Made A Big Change At NYFW

by Marc Cuenco

There's so much that happens during the craziness that is New York Fashion Week that some things simply go unnoticed. Amidst all the theatrical shows and marvelous new collections, Ashley Olsen dyed her hair dark brown and quietly debuted it during The Row's fall 2016 fashion show. Thankfully, a few fashionable sleuths noticed how the actress-turned-designer has gone brunette for the new year.

Earlier this week, Ashley and Mary-Kate presented the latest collection at The Row's headquarters located in the West Village. The Olsen twins sat on the floor of their showroom as models clad in luxe coats, sweaters, and trousers walked around mid-century furniture designed by Wyeth (which were also being sold to potential buyers). Photos of Ashley, her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail, appear to be a much darker shade than usual — and depending on the light, even looked somewhat of a reddish blonde.

However, a close-up photograph of the Olsens at the Oliver Peoples boutique published in The New York Times shows that Ashley has definitely traded her signature golden locks for a bolder brown shade. Aside from presenting their latest high-end collection, the sisters recently collaborated with Oliver Peoples on a line of sunglasses.

The Olsen twins definitely have a unique way of presenting The Row during fashion week.

Ashley's hair color was much lighter when they attended the CFDA Awards last June.

Blonde or brunette, the Olsen twins truly are fashionable forces of nature.
