Ariana Grande Has Huge News For Her Fans

by Amy Mackelden

It might seem like far too much time has passed since Ariana Grande last released an album, but big things are happening for the pop star. Grande will not only perform on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, but she'll be hosting it as well. This will be Ariana Grande's first time hosting Saturday Night Live , and I'm already excited to see how she uses this opportunity to show off her comic timing. The former Nickelodeon star was great in comedy-horror TV show Scream Queens, so hosting Saturday Night Live is the perfect next step for the singer and actress. So what can we expect when Grande hosts and performs on SNL on March 12?

Ariana Grande's character on Scream Queens was consistently sarcastic, using social media throughout a scene in which she fought off a serial killer. Grande also recently made a cameo in Zoolander 2, and, of course, was previously on Nickelodeon's Victorious and in the Broadway play 13. The pop star is no stranger to comedy, and it seems to be the perfect moment for her to take the reins at Saturday Night Live, especially since her new album, Dangerous Woman , is due out in 2016. Hosting and performing on the show is an amazing opportunity for the "Focus" singer to prove how multi-faceted she is.

While I'm looking forward to seeing some of Grande's comedy stylings on Saturday Night Live, I'm even more excited about the prospect of hearing new songs from her forthcoming, and long-awaited, album Dangerous Woman. So far, we've been teased with smash hit "Focus" and lots of clips of new songs via Snapchat, but her performance on Saturday Night Live is likely to mean new material being performed for the first time. "Focus" was released back in October 2015, and we've all been waiting what seems like forever to hear more music from Grande (although her festive EP Christmas & Chill was cute). It's about time the pop star's new songs were free, so that the world can listen to them on repeat for an inappropriate length of time.

It's not long until March 12, when we'll get a double-dose of Ariana Grande, as singer and host-extraordinaire on Saturday Night Live. We are all very lucky indeed.
