11 Different Ways To Wear Glitter In Your Everday

by Melodi Erdogan

If we lived in the world of unicorns and fairies, wearing glitter all day, everyday would likely be more common than it is. Unfortunately, that is not the world we live in. But that's not to say that there aren't ways to wear glitter in your day to day. From highlighting your brow bone with soft, gold sparkles to catching the light with a mineralized, sparkling xpowder, glitter can be used in creative, pretty ways and easily incorporated into anyone's daily routine.

If I could, I would smear rainbow glitter across my cheeks daily and revel in feeling like a disco ball. But work, running errands, and attending meetings aren't exactly the ideal places to rock such a look. You might not be able to throw glitter all over your body anywhere, anytime, but expertly working it into your beauty routine is actually pretty doable. Through glitter beauty products and creative application, anyone can rock glitter eyeliner, sparkling face dust, and even shiny lip gloss, no matter what their day entails.

Here are 11 ways to rock glitter daily, as well as some products to help you achieve that. It might take a little restraint to not over-apply and indulge in all things sparkly. But with some self-control, a subtle yet pretty sparkling, glittery makeup look might just be your new go-to.

1. Glistening Lips

A sparkling pout is totally wearable for your everyday if you approach things strategically. I suggest avoiding glosses and lipsticks with thick, shimmery formulas, and instead opt for products with light reflective qualities that have a subtle shine to them. It's usually safe to go with neutral colors, but depending on your tastes, you might prefer dark or bright tones.

2. Glitter Lined Eyes

Sparkling eyeliner is usually the talk of the town when it comes to events or special occasions. But to me, it's a perfectly good everyday staple as well. Again, you don't want to go too heavy-handed on the glitter. With a small swoop of a neutral metallic shade, the look can be suitable for every kind of setting. It's eye-catching, pretty, and beyond easy to throw on. That's certainly something the classic black cat-eye can't say.

3. Sparkling Cheekbones

Bare cheekbones are basically asking to be covered in some glitter. The look doesn't have to be too intense. Just a light dusting of your favorite shimmery highlighter will give your cheekbones a dose of shine and light.

4. Glitter-Covered Eyelids

Using glitter eyeshadow is a no-brainer in my life. But instead of piling it on in dark or bright hues, why not opt for neutral colors in small doses? Stick to metallic shimmers in taupe, brown shades for a work-appropriate look. Then, after a long day in the office, you can load on a darker, bolder shade for a perfect going-out beauty look.

5. Highlighted Brow Bone

The last step to a truly on fleek brow is a highlighted brow bone. Grab your favorite light, sparkly eyeshadow shade and swoop it underneath your brow for a reflective and brightening look.

6. Sparkling Inner Eye

One of the easiest ways to get your eyes looking brighter and more awake is to line the inner part of your eye with a light, bright shimmer. Grab your favorite pigment or shadow and a small eye brush, or even just the tip of your ring finger, and go nuts.

7. Shining Cupid's Bow

Just as with the inner eye, the Cupid's bow is a prime area on your face to subtly highlight for dramatic results. With either a bright, light, and sparkling eyeshadow, or your favorite highlighting powder, swoop the product over your Cupid's bow to make your lips look more defined and to add some light to your face.

8. Sparkly Nails

Personally, I'm not much of a nail person (it must be the nail-biter in me talking), but there's no denying that a sparkly polish is both wearable and playful for every day. Even though I hardly ever get my nails painted, I gravitate towards fun, glitter-based shades whenever I do.

9. Reverse Sparkly/Smoky Eye

I ventured into the world of the reverse smoky eye once, and loved the flirty, sexy look of it. But recently, I opted for light, glitter-based shades instead, and loved it even more. Not only will the glitter help your eyes look bright, but it will also add a dose of color and shine to an otherwise basic makeup look.

10. Shimmering Decolletage

Perhaps some of your daily activities might not call for showing your chest some love with the help of glitter. But there's no harm in dusting a little shimmer along your collarbone to feel sparkly and confident in your own skin. I find it both alluring and chic for a subtle glitter beauty look.

11. Shine On The Bridge Of Your Nose

Did you know that shading the bridge of your nose with a little highlighter can also bring lots of light to your face? Take a finely-milled shimmer on a small brush and run it down your nose for a light-reflecting look that will also allow you to embrace your love of shimmer. Just make sure you blend it ever so lightly so it's not too thick on your nose.
