13 '90s Fashion Moments You Will Always Remember

by Julia Musto

The most iconic '90s fashion moments you'll always remember were also some of the most unexpected. Fashion trends of the era came in many different forms and shapes and colors. There were amazing cool mesh band outfits from TLC, leather jackets with flowered skater dresses, Doc Martens, slip dresses with spaghetti straps, and flannels, plus everything in between. Every awards show was cause for a lot of hullabaloo and stars made splashes in Calvin Klein. Johnny Depp and Kate Moss were the "It" couple. Gwen Stefani was just becoming a popular artist and Clueless was in theaters everywhere.

I was just being born and singing along to Raffi and watching Sesame Street every morning. My mom was, of course, rocking mom jeans and huge pink wool sweaters. Her glasses were as big as teacup saucers. I was rocking little white Keds before my feet grew to be a size eleven practically two years later.

Now, with the return of '90s trends and fashion in full force, fashionistas and bloggers like me are reliving our childhoods. But, this time, we are able to dress ourselves. So, with that in mind, here are some fashion moments and stylish people that every '90s kid will remember.

1. When The Spice Girls Wore Outfits Based On Their Personalities

Everything the Spice Girls (my favorite band from back when) wore was fashionable, because each member of the was designed to attract a different type of girl. For example, Sporty wore Adidas sweats and Scary wore leopard print! This particular photo features Ginger's iconic red satin dress that was basically all of my #goals back in the day.

2. When Johnny Depp Wore A Huge White Collar
