You Definitely Wore These Early '00s Hair Extras

by Kali Borovic

The '00s were a magical time where everything was full of fake rhinestones and bold patterns. Bigger was better — especially when it came to hair accessories. Everyone from Britney Spears to Mariah Carey had fun with hair accessories back then, which meant the rest of us did too! This list of '00s hair accessories that you almost definitely wore at one point or another will bring you back to the good old days.

As crazy as trends were in the '00s, hair accessories were definitely the biggest statement-makers. People wore everything from butterflies to hair wraps and everything in between. These trends went way past your average headband. Rocking a fun hair extra was an easy and cheap way to upgrade your outfit make you feel good about yourself. Sure, some of these things seem ridiculous now, but they sure were fun to rock once upon a time.

I can still remember going into Claire's for their giant accessory sale and snagging one of just about everything to wear in my hair. Ah, the good old days. There was a certain satisfaction that came with sliding on a butterfly clip and feeling on top of the world. Deny it all you want, but you know you wore all of these trends at some point in the 2000s.
