This Oscar Is Missing From The Oscars

Sure, the Academy Awards bring boatloads of celebrities to the red carpet and to our television screens, but there’s one Oscar that doesn’t seem to be represented at the 2016 Oscars— Oscar Isaac. The actor, who starred in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Ex Machina this past year, was notably absent from the red carpet and the actual show. Seriously, where is Oscar Isaac during the Oscars? He’s the most important Oscar in my life.

Isaac first showed up on the scene as the title characters in films like Inside Llewyn Davis and A Most Violent Year, but things really took off for him after he was cast as Poe Dameron in the newest Star Wars film. What’s next for Isaac? He’ll play Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. But what I really wanted was to see him in a nicely fitting suit on the Academy Awards red carpet. Is that so hard to ask, Osar? Why do you play with my heart like this? You know that I can’t stand it.

Fortunately, I’m not the only person whose heart is breaking while I look for his adorable face on the red carpet. If only we could see that graying hair. Those crinkly, soulful eyes. Fans on Twitter have also been questioning where Isaac is Sunday night — even Jacob Tremblay probably wants to know.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one with a serious crush on the star. Honestly, though, it's sort of strange that Isaac hasn't showed up yet, and it would be even stranger if it wasn't invited. His film Ex Machina has nominations tonight, and he was in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was the biggest movie of the year. Daisy Ridley, his costar is at the awards, but not him. What gives? I await his next awards show appearance with bated breath.
