Who Designed Sophie Turner's 2016 Oscars Dress?

by Amanda Richards

If you want to see an absolutely jaw-dropping look, Sophie Turner at the 2016 Oscars red carpet will have your back: A sage gown with a thigh-high slit, a pair of amazing heels, a flash of sparkle, all set off by her amazing crop of flowing red hair. While it's easy to get lost in the ethereal moment her look creates, inquiring minds want to know: Who designed that incredible dress?

During an interview on the E! red carpet, Turner mentioned that her dress is an ethically-made Galvan for Opening Ceremony gown, a piece included in the Red Carpet Green Dress initiative, spearheaded by James and Suzy Amis Cameron, which aims to showcase that fashion can be humane, environmentally friendly, and totally killer. "Everything here is all sustainable," Turner said.

But what about the designer, Galvan? Relatively unknown until recent months, Galvan is considered by some to be the hip new member of the evening-wear designer class. The London-based brand has dressed stars on the red carpet before, including Rihanna, Sienna Miller, and Jennifer Lawrence. Turner's dress at the 2016 Oscars is a bit different from anything the brand has done before, as the entire gown was made from sustainable, ethically produced fabric. Additionally, it's a bespoke version of a dress from the Galvan x Opening Ceremony collection.

This isn't the first time that Turner has looked absolutely flawless in Galvan on the red carpet, either: At the 2015 Emmys, she wore this incredible Galvan jumpsuit.

Clearly, Galvan and Turner are a match made in fashion heaven.
