The Future Has The Weeknd on 'SNL,' But Not Drake

When Jonah Hill came out to host the March 5 episode of Saturday Night Live, he didn't have much of a monologue. There were just a few jokes about how he hasn't been in many movies lately. "What's it like being a movie star?" Kyle Mooney asked as a question for the audience. "I mean, can you ask one of your friends?"

Instead of doing a long comedy bit, Jonah Hill turned over his SNL monologue to the musical guest of the night, Future. He also teased an appearance by Drake, but they quickly said that Drake couldn't make it, so Hill offered to fill in himself. Jay Pharoah, who actually has a pretty serviceable Drake impression — remember his "Hotline Bling" video parody? — tried to butt in, but Hill was having none of it. Instead, Hill and Future performed a little of "Jumpman" together. Of course, we would have preferred if Drake could have appeared in person, but it wasn't meant to be. Instead, I guess Hill did the best he could. I don't think he should quit his day job, though (even if the monologue made it seem like the acting thing isn't going so well, either).

When Future finally came to do his first for-real performance, he didn't do it alone, either. The Weeknd came out to perform "Low Life." And it was actually The Weeknd, not a SNL cast member doing an impression.

For his last performance, Future performed "March Madness." He took center stage by himself. That time, not even Jonah Hill came to help him out.
