Randy Travis Hospitalized in Critical Condition

Country singer Randy Travis is in critical condition, according to his publicist. The musician was admitted to a hospital in Texas Sunday with complications stemming from viral infection.

Travis is suffering from viral cardiomyopathy, a condition that weakens the heart after contracting an infection.

The country singer has confronted trouble in recent years — Travis was arrested twice in 2012 for public intoxication and driving while intoxicated and hospitalized later that year after getting into a fight by a church in Plano, Texas. The singer also divorced his wife of 19 years, Lib Hatcher, in 2010.
