8 Reasons Tom Hiddleston As Bond Would Be Amazing

by Michelle Lulic

Hiddleston. Tom Hiddleston. Yep, that's the latest name on the list of actors to possibly take over the famed James Bond role. With Daniel Craig planning on leaving 007 behind with the 2015 release of Spectre, the classically trained actor and Avengers villain recently spoke up to the Sunday Times in saying, "If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity... and I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.” And this only means one thing: By putting the idea into the universe, Tom Hiddleston could be James Bond. You know, if the universe loves us.

With the actor being up against the likes of Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, and more, he's not the only serious British actor eyeing the role. And that is just going to make the already complicated iconic casting position just a little bit more complex. It's time to prove to the world why Tom Hiddleston would be perfect for the role. Aside from Hiddleston's own mentioned mental and physical capabilities for the role, the best way for him to convince the film's future casting director of his place within the story is by letting his work speak for himself. And, lucky for Hiddleston fans, he has proven himself time and time again. Here are all of the reasons why Tom Hiddleston should have this 007 role on lock.

1. His Action Skills Are On Point

The Avengers has given Hiddleston a decent amount of physical training so far. And what better way to make use of his training then to become one of the most coveted spies in Britain?

2. He Can Certainly Get The Ladies

Between his fan base of screaming girls, and his rumored relationship with Avengers co-star, Elizabeth Olsen, Hiddleston definitely knows how to reel in the ladies. His smooth moves were also highlighted in his sexy role as Thomas Sharpe in Crimson Peak. That is definitely something him and 007 have in common.

3. He Fully Dedicates Himself To Every Role

Daniel Craig may be totally over playing James Bond at this point, but Tom Hiddleston? I don't see him tiring out from the role. With multiple movies as Thor's brother Loki already locked in, the actor dedicates himself completely to the roles he is given. In fact, he even showed up to San Diego Comic Con as his character Loki in 2013.

4. He Can Bring The Next Generation of James Bond Fans

Let's be real here. Superhero films are all the rage these days. The younger generations may have a hard time grasping on to the initial drive of James Bond. I mean, James can't fly or shoot laser beams, so like why is he worth watching? That's where Hiddleston steps in. Fans will be flocking to theaters just to see, "That guy who plays Loki in The Avengers."

5. He's Classically Trained

Yes, some of the other actors he is up against for the role are classically trained as well, but that doesn't mean that that little fact needs to be downplayed. Hiddleston has taken to the stage to act in Shakespearean classics such as Coriolanus, Othello, and Cymbelline, so, is there really any role he can't handle?

6. His Smooth And Sultry Voice

If the only thing you have ever seen Hiddleston in is The Avengers, then even you know that his voice is a mix of both deep and intellectual. British accent or not. Honestly, I can already hear him muttering those famous words: "Bond. James Bond."

7. He Can Rock A Suit

James Bond can't exist without his signature look, and Hiddleston has already made that look his own. In fact, the roles that the actor often plays (aside from Loki) usually require him to wear a well-fitted, stylish, and expensive suit.

8. Seriously, Just Look At Him

Damn, he cleans up well. And I'm pretty sure that look is not coming from Tom Hiddleston... It's coming from the future James Bond.

The list of reasons why Hiddleston is perfect for the role seems to be endless. But, with all of his competition on the table, there is definitely nothing set in stone. Keep your fingers crossed.
