4 Arrests Made In Connection to His Death

by Ivy Jacobson

Two days after he tragically died of an overdose, New York police have reportedly arrested four people in connection with Philip Seymour Hoffman's death. On Tuesday, arrests were made because the suspects supplied Hoffman with the heroin that killed him. An anonymous person told police the names and addresses of two of the drug dealers who were arrested, according to TMZ, because the tipster had seen Hoffman buy heroin there before.

Three men and one woman were arrested, according to the NY Post. Robert Vineberg, 57-years-old, and Thomas Kushman, 48-years-old, were charged with felony drug possession. Max Rosenblum and Juliana Luchkiw, both 22-years-old, were charged with misdemeanor drug possession. Luchkiw is a student at The New School in Manhattan.

Police made the arrests in a building on Mott Street in Chinatown around 7:30 p.m. after obtaining a search warrant. In the apartment, authorities reportedly found 350 glassine envelopes filled with heroin in three different apartments in the building, according to People. However, the bags did not bear the “Ace of Spades” stamp, which were on the bags found in Hoffman’s apartment after his body was discovered. Hoffman was found dead in his bathroom, with a needle still stuck in his left forearm. Near him were two glassine envelopes, containing heroin. Eight more empty glassine envelopes were also found in his West Village apartment.

Even though arrests have been made, that still doesn't lessen the grieving of Hoffman's family and friends.

A private funeral service for the Capote actor is scheduled to take place later this week in New York City Hoffman's "family and close friends," his rep told People. Mimi O'Donnell, the actor's longtime partner of 15 years, was seen at a funeral home on the Upper East Side making arrangements for the service, with Hoffman's personal assistant in tow. Hoffman will also have a memorial service in New York later in the month.

Hoffman is survived by his partner O’Donnell, and his three children: son Cooper and daughters Tallulah and Willa. He was 46-years-old.
