Another Major Kids' Book Is Being Made Into A Film

We've found him on the beach, in Hollywood, Ancient Rome, space, and the (incredibly frustrating) WallyLand, and now we're about to find him on the big screen. A live-action Where's Waldo? movie is coming from MGM, and rumor has it that Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg are producing.

I have so many questions.

In the movie, are we following Waldo? Will we finally get inside that sneaky, stripe-wearer's brain? Or are we following along with the Wally Watchers, following along his trail of dropped binoculars, teacups, snorkels, kettles, sleeping bags, and other completely necessary items, Carmen Sandiego style? Have Waldo and Carmen Sandiego ever met, because talk about a match made in heaven? But I digress.

Word of the Where's Waldo? movie — pitched as a "worldwide adventure" — first emerged in 2011, but this is the first major development in the past five years. It's based, of course, on the classic books by Martin Handford, first released in 1987, that spawned dozens of sequels, following the titular Waldo across the world and through time. The books have also literally made their way across the world, as the books adapted Waldo through several countries: Charlie in France, Willy in Norway, Jura in Croatia, and Walter in German, just to name a handful.

Here's hoping that trusty Waldo pals (and nemesis) Woof, Wilma, Wizard Whitebeard, and Odlaw are also along for the movie ride.
