Britt Nilsson Picks Her 2016 'Bachelorette'

by Lindsey Kupfer

It seems like just yesterday viewers met Caila Quinn, the software sales rep from Ben Higgins' season of The Bachelor, but now it looks like the show is passing the reins on to her. Although ABC had no comment on the rumors, US Weekly reported earlier in March that Caila Quinn could be the next Bachelorette. The magazine claimed that she was spotted in her hometown of Hudson, Ohio allegedly filming her intro package. With gossip swirling, it seemed only right to talk to a former almost-Bachelorette about her thoughts on the newest rumored Bachelorette. In an interview with Bustle, Season 11 double Bachelorette contestant Britt Nilsson weighed in on The Bachelor and the potential Season 12 leading lady.

The last time we saw Britt on TV, she was sent home after the men voted for Kaitlyn Bristowe to become the Bachelorette. Britt, heartbroken, got a pleasant surprise when one of the contestants decided to go after her. For two months, she and Brady Toops spent time together trying to see if they were meant to be. They ultimately decided to part ways as friends. Now, Britt is living a great life with the man of her dreams and barely has time to keep up with The Bachelor. She admits to Bustle that while she has only watched bits and pieces of Ben’s season, she did watch the Women Tell All in full. She says it’s her favorite episode, and she couldn't miss it.

“It was kind of giving me flashbacks to my own [Women Tell All], and I remember being so stressed out that day,” Britt says. “That day felt like, I don’t even know, the biggest thing in the whole world. For days before I was just praying, freaking out, it was so intense. There was a part of me watching those women thinking, ‘I know how you're feeling!’”

Someone who stood out to Britt on this season's Women Tell All? Caila, who went home brokenhearted after the Fantasy Suite dates. In an attempt to surprise her man, Caila showed up at Ben's hotel room in Jamaica after their overnight date and ended up leaving in tears as he admitted that he just didn’t feel the way she did. Britt had just finished watching Caila talk about her breakup on the WTA before my interview, so I took the opportunity to ask her what she thinks of Caila possibly becoming the next Bachelorette.

“I feel like she will be [a good Bachelorette],” Britt says. “I like her. She seems intelligent and like a person I would want to be friends with, so I hope it's her. I would watch it with her. It would feel right to me.”

Hmm, it looks like we are going to have a new live-tweeter next season. And, if she is the next leading lady, Caila can count on getting some solid, positive advice from Britt. She knows how to keep her head up when things get rough.
