Here's How Much A Cherry Blossom Frapp Costs

Nothing wakes you up faster than discovering that there’s a new Starbucks drink in town — which is pretty much exactly what happened to me when I booted up my computer bright and early this morning. Among the many, many questions I initially had about the limited-edition beverage, of course, though, was this: How much does a Starbucks Cherry Blossom Frappuccino cost? Well, I have good news for anyone who feeds a regular Frapp habit: It costs the same amount as a regular Starbucks Frappuccino, according to a spokesperson for the coffee house — so if you have a weekly budget for your favorite treat, this springtime variation on the theme will still fit right within it. What a time to be alive!

The caveat, of course, is the same one we come across every time a new menu item is released at chain locations across the nation — that is, the actual price you pay will vary depending on where you are. Generally speaking, the price of a Tall, 12-ounce Frappuccino ranges from $4.25 to $4.95, a Starbucks spokesperson tells Bustle; so, if you’re located in a more affordable area, you’ll pay closer to four bucks, while if you’re in an area with a higher cost of living, you can expect to pay something closer to five. Such is the nature of life.

The drink itself is described as a “delicious blend of sweet strawberries and cream, striped with white chocolate sauce and matcha drizzle and topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of matcha.” There’s no cherry in it — it takes its inspiration from the sakura, or cherry blossom trees, which are just about to hit peak bloom in Washington, DC — but as Bustle’s Kathryn Kattalia noted, it’s a refreshing twist on a strawberry Frappuccino that really does taste like “spring in a cup.” Despite the matcha, by the way, the drink is also caffeine-free, so there's no need to avoid it if you normally live a non-caffeinated lifestyle. (If that's you, my proverbial hat is off to you — I don't know how you do it. You must be a magical unicorn person.)

Not unlike actual cherry blossoms, the Starbucks Cherry Blossom Frappuccino is available for a strictly limited time; you’ve got between Tuesday, March 15 and Sunday, March 20 to give it a shot. And if you’re in the DC area, make sure you check out the Cherry Blossom Festival while you’re at it — the blooms will be at their best from March 18 to March 23.

Happy springtime, everyone!
