Schwarzenegger Wants Ohio To Vote Kasich

Former Terminator and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is Team Kasich and tried to encourage Ohio voters to cast ballots for the state's reigning governor. With only an hour left before Ohio polls closed, Schwarzenegger told Ohio to vote Kasich on Super Tuesday 3 in a video featuring two adorable dogs. The Republican publicly endorsed Kasich last week, unexpectedly making the announcement on Snapchat.

"Go out and vote for my good buddy John Kasich. He's a great governor," Schwarzenegger said in Tuesday's video, before letting two cute dogs lick his face. "What do you say, Gustav?" he asked one dog. "Huh? You agree." It's a little strange that Schwarzenegger filmed himself laying on a set of stairs while dogs licked his face, but it definitely got people's attention, which was obviously the goal. Kasich tweeted the video, which also seemed to be from Snapchat, writing: "1 hour to go, Ohio! @Schwarzenegger wants you to get to the polls!" Schwarzenegger then retweeted Kasich's tweet of his video, adding, "DO IT NOW." The love between these two is strong.

Kasich desperately needed to win the GOP primary in his home state in order to have any future in the race for the Republican nomination for president. Before March 15, he only had 63 pledged delegates, falling far behind Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio.

The Kasich campaign posted a more official video of the former California governor on Monday touting a very similar message. "Get to the polls and vote for my very good friend and action governor, John Kasich," Schwarzenegger says while sitting in front of a fireplace likely in his California home.

In all of his endorsements for Kasich, Schwarzenegger calls him a good friend. The movie star told the crowd at a Kasich rally in Ohio on March 6 that they became friends in the 1980s when he visited the Buckeye State for his annual Arnold Sports Festival fitness expo. "When he ran for governor, I said to him, 'I'll be back,'" Schwarzenegger told the Kasich supporters while donning a Kasich For America jacket.

"We need John Kasich to now take charge and be at the White House," he continued. "And this is why I endorse John Kasich, our great governor, to be our Republican nominee, and to be the next president of the United States of America, the greatest country in the world." However, Schwarzenegger hasn't been specific about why he wants the Ohio governor to lead the nation, besides the fact that the two are friends.
