Will Justin Timberlake Appear In 'Dead 7'?

by Michelle Lulic

Three of your favorite things that you never imagined to come together are coming together: zombie movies, westerns, and '90s boy bands. And, no. I'm not joking. In fact, SyFy released the trailer for the upcoming movie, Dead 7, on Thursday and '90s fans don't know what to do with themselves. The made-for-TV movie is not only going to be released as soon as April 1, but it's also starring members from *NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and O-Town. However, while there's trailer confirmation and IMDB confirmation on exactly which former pop stars will be featured in western-zombie-boy band mix, there is still one question on my mind: Is Justin Timberlake going to be appearing in Dead 7 ?

Let's be real here for a second. While yes, other members of *NSYNC have taken on acting endeavors before, if there's any '90s boy band member that has proven he can act over the years, it's Justin Timberlake. From starring in movies like Friends With Benefits, Trouble With The Curve, and even the Academy Award-winning film The Social Network to basically becoming a Saturday Night Live icon, it's almost hard to remember his successful music career. At this point, Timberlake is basically a well-known actor. His boy band days are long, long gone. So, with his star power, acting chops, and '90s boy band upbringing, why not include him in a film like Dead 7? He totally belongs, and he can definitely fit at least a cameo into his busy schedule.

But there is still hesitation that the accomplished singer and actor would even show up for a SyFy film cameo. The last time Justin performed with the band was at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, and since then? Not much luck. In fact, Lance Bass even accidentally forgot to invite Justin to his wedding. So, how close is Justin with the band these days anyway? While it would be a nice ode to his fans for him to appear alongside fellow *NSYNC members like Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick (already listed on the film's IMDB), it may be highly unlikely just because of how far his career has ventured off from the rest of the band.

However, one thing still gives me hope: His friendship with Joey Fatone. Joey appears the most out of all the *NSYNC members in the film's newly-released trailer, so he could be holding a pretty high up position in both the film and his say on production. And, after commenting on Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's growing family back in 2014, perhaps these two have remained close enough for Joey to pull some much-needed strings. Or, at least, I sure hope so.

Either way, I'm thinking this movie is totally worth watching. Why it exists? I can't tell you. But Justin Timberlake in cowboy boots and totally zombified would be amazing. Seriously, a movie like this one calls for his all-jean ensemble.
