Tyrion Will Face Difficult Times On 'GoT' Season 6

The life of any Game of Thrones character is never easy. I mean, it's gotten to the point where you can even go to a wedding ceremony without seeing someone get murdered right in front of your eyes. But now we're about to embark on brand new terrain and witness things that not even the book readers know are coming, which might very well make Game of Thrones Season 6 the scariest season of all. What will become of our beloved characters? Who will we lose? Who will we (hopefully) see return? There is so much now that we simply just don't know. However, thanks to a very ominous promo, I'm growing more and more concerned about what will happen to Tyrion Lannister on Game of Thrones Season 6?

In the clip, we see several familiar faces upon display in the Hall of Faces. And while many of the characters featured are long gone from this fictional world (Ned Stark, Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Joffrey Baratheon, and, yes, even Jon Snow), there were a few faces showcased that are still among the living, including Tyrion Lannister. What are the writers trying to tell us with this? It's hard to say, but I doubt it has anything to do with Tyrion taking a nice, peaceful nap — unless it's of a more permanent nature, if you catch my drift. So before we dive into what's sure to be an action-packed season, let's prepare ourselves for what may lie in store for our youngest Lannister.

1. He Will Die

If we take the promo at face value, then one could easily assume that Tyrion is fated to join the other deceased characters by the end of the season. Though, if that's true then it looks like Daenerys, Sansa, Cersei, and many more could be in trouble as well. Let's hope it's not as straightforward as all that.

2. He Will Rule Meereen

After Dany quite literally flew off to parts unknown, Tyrion, Missandei, and Grey Worm were left behind to try and maintain peace in an impoverished city. Considering that Tyrion has yet to meet Dany in George R.R. Martin's novels, it's hard to say where things will go from, but given his background as a former acting Hand of the king, I'd love to see him take on such an important and powerful position. He may prove to be the best thing that ever happened to this city. But it won't be easy...

3. He Will Face Famine

Back in October, Watchers on the Wall got their hands on a casting notice, indicating that the show was looking for a vast array of very thin people, including an emaciated street woman in her thirties and a painfully thin woman living in extreme poverty with a starving baby. Sounds like all the makings of a famine subplot to me, which means Tyrion (if he really is in charge) may have his work cut out for him.

4. He Will Make A New Female Friend

In the novels, Tyrion (while still imprisoned by Jorah, mind you) was attacked on their way to Meerren by a female dwarf named Penny, who blamed him for her brother Oppo's death. (The killers mistook him for Tyrion at the time.) The two of them eventually grew closer, though, with Penny even teaching Tyrion how to joust. And while it's true that he is no longer Jorah's prisoner, that doesn't mean Penny can still appear in some way down the line.

5. He Will Make A Deal With The Second Sons

We have yet to come across this sellsword thus far, but in the novels Tyrion eventually joined up with the Second Sons, which could prove to be a powerful alliance on the show now that he's trying to uphold law and order in Meereen. Maybe they end up striking a deal that could save the city from its dismal fate. It's just a question of what this group would want in return. (After all, a Lannister always pays his debts.)

6. He Finds Another Targaryen

If you thought things couldn't possibly get any more complicated on this show, then think again. In the books Tyrion eventually meets a man by the name of Young Griff, who claims to be the presumedly-dead son of Rhaegar Targaryen, Aegon, thereby making him the true heir to the Iron Throne. Is this guy actually legit? That's hard to say, but you can't deny it would make for a pretty compelling plot development. And if anyone is smart enough to figure out the truth behind this wild story, it's Tyrion. And hey, maybe it'll even give Rhaegal and Viserion a reason to return.

But whatever fate may lie in store for Tyrion, I think I speak for everyone when I say — is it April 24 yet?!
