Which Kardashians Almost Didn't Appear On 'KUWTK'?

Like them or loathe them, the Kardashians are an iconic American family. Kardashian may have become a recognizable name with the O.J. Simpson trial — this is, of course, because the now-deceased patriarch Robert Kardashian acted as Simpson's defense attorney — but it was the trio of Kardashian sisters who really elevated the name to the level of fame it has since achieved. That started, of course, with Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the reality show that not only introduced us to Kim Kardashian, but also her entire family. Today, Kourtney and Khloé are just as big household names as their middle sister, and their appearance on the E! reality show made that happen. However, according to one Kardashian, Kourtney and Khloé didn't want to appear on Keeping Up With The Kardashians in the first place — and had they not been, our celebrity world might look a whole lot different.

On Khloe's talk show Kocktails With Khloé, the youngest Kardashian sister discussed her personal struggles following the death of her father when she was 19. Khloé said that she was "spiraling" out of control and partying too much, which is when her sister Kourtney stepped in and told her that she wanted her to run her new women's clothing boutique — which, as any well-versed Kardashian fan knows, became Dash. In fact, it was Dash that led to Khloé making the life-changing decision to appear on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She revealed:

"Kim and my mom really wanted to do the TV show, and Kourtney and I were like, 'All we wanted to do was the kids store and Dash'... Ryan Seacrest was like, 'Well, I only want you on if it's a family show,' so we said, 'Well, if you film at the store, and it's our commercial, then we'll be on it.’"

It's so bizarre to consider that, had things gone a little bit differently, both Khloé and Kourtney could have never appeared on the reality show. Had Khloé never decided to open Dash with her sisters, both she and Kourtney may have never had the incentive to join the cast. While Seacrest may have initially wanted the entire family to be on the show, it's hard to say whether the show would have eventually revamped into something completely unrecognizable. Forget Keeping Up With The Kardashians would exist — we may have been treated to Keeping Up With Kim Kardashian instead.

With that alternative in mind, I think it's fair to say that things happened the way they were meant to.
