Taylor Swift Just Brought The '70s Back Again

by Eliza Florendo

It's no surprise that all eyes are on Taylor Swift's style at every awards ceremony. She always finds a way to surprise everyone, after all. Taylor Swift at the 2016 iHeart Radio Music Awards channeled a '70s superhero in the best way, wearing an all-black jumpsuit. Is it Catwoman? Is it T. Swift? Or is it both? In this case, I'd have to say the two morphed perfectly into one.

While Swift's style is known to be super feminine and flirty (think mini skirts, crop tops, and lots and lots of florals and bright colors), it seems as though she's going through a style transformation of sorts. Could it be more time spent in New York City? Whatever the reason, Swift has been spotted wearing a lot more black and other neutrals, like camel and white.

Personally, I'm partial to her looks that consist of all-white suits paired with a white crop top underneath. It's so effortlessly chic, and definitely more mature than some of her ensembles from the past. Lately, however, we're seeing a lot of jumpsuits from the 1989 star, along with oversized sweaters, pointed shoes, and, of course, her new Anna Wintour-like bob.

Tonight is no exception: Taylor Swift absolutely slayed (and I use that word sparingly, but this totally deserves it) in a sequined halter jumpsuit. This is where the Catwoman vibes come in. An oversized black belt cinched her waist and added a totally fun, playful element to her whole outfit.

To top it all off, she sported super chunky heeled mule booties. While she went simple with a black jumpsuit, it was far from boring. Evidently, tonight is a night for sequins — with Keke Palmer and Meghan Trainor also rocking bedazzled numbers. But I have to say, Swift's getup has got to be my favorite.

Tonight Swift has the lead for most nominations, with eight in her bag including "Song Of The Year" and "Female Artist Of The Year." Although I can predict a lot of wins for the musician this evening, I already know of one: The getup of the evening award. I honestly adore how simple yet chic (and badass) this whole ensemble is. You slay, Tay.
