This Animated Video Is A Testament To Boss Women

by Lara Rutherford-Morrison

If you need an anthem to get you through your work week, Super Deluxe has got you covered: The comedy video website just released an animated video of “Boss Ass Bitch.” Directed by animator Winona Regan, the video features three badass women going about their days, getting stuff done, and being completely boss the whole time.

As you may recall, “Boss Ass Bitch” was released by the group PTAF, made up of three then-teenagers, in 2012. It went viral in the summer of 2013, becoming a popular backing for Vine videos, before Nicki Minaj recorded a remix of the song at the end of that year. Now the song is back in quirky, colorful animation, with three female characters dancing along to its infectious beat: A mom, a firefighter, and a judge. All three are powerful, confident, and totally unwilling to take shit from anyone.

This video is weird, catchy, fun, a little disturbing, and I can’t stop watching it. I have now watched it four times in a row (for WORK, no less!), and I’m not even sure how I’m feeling. But I do know three things: One, that I will have this song stuck in my head for at least the next three days. Two, that I love it when these boss bitches use their superpowers to transform the creepy guy at the grocery story into a feminist:

And, three, that this vogueing judge is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen:

Seriously, I could watch that GIF on a loop FOREVER. You can the whole video below. (Fair warning — in case it’s not obvious from the song title — this video is NSFW.)
