The Designer Of Emilia Clarke's MTV Dress Was...

The Mother Of Dragons keeps things playful when she's not busy trying to win her throne back with force. Emilia Clarke's dress at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, for instance, was nothing but fun. The actor donned a quirky print of women's faces running from the bust right down to the hem. Keeping a pillar shape with a plunging neckline, the dress was super busy with embroidered and sequined-out retro faces, but the white color kept it from feeling too overwhelming.

She didn't stop the cheekiness there, but continued to up the fun factor by accessorizing with a light pink, bejeweled clutch that, quite honestly, I would've gone bananas for when I was five (which is quite the compliment), Anita Ko rings, and wave-strapped silver heels.

One thing was obvious looking at Clarke's red carpet outfit: She had a helluva lot of fun dressing up for it. But one thing that wasn't obvious was who designed Clarke's dress. The answer might not surprise you: According to WhoWhatWear, the dress designer was Miu Miu. As a label that's super into the kitsch, and is pattern-loving and an upholder of the playful aesthetic, it seems almost obvious that the OTT-printed dress would've been born from this house.

Just listen to what Vogue had to say of the brand's 2015 show: "Today’s Miu Miu show had kitschy nylon-looking negligees layered over sweaters and gingham shirts; it involved wintry purple and green lozenge-patterned narrow coats and midi pencil skirts, fur stoles, and boxy Deco-patterned cardigans. Anxious that this doesn’t make sense? Don’t be. That is exactly Prada’s point."

The retro, embroidered patterns make sense, don't they? The label is clearly all for a quirky, adventurous type of dresser.

And Clarke definitely fits that bill. Not only was she brave enough to wear such an unexpected frock, but she took it a step further by accessorizing with equally playful and kitsch pieces.

A woman after my own heart.
