There's Going To Be More 'Man Seeking Woman'

by Courtney Lindley

Apparently, the man is still seeking. On Tuesday, FXX announced that its unconventional comedy, Man Seeking Woman , has been renewed for a third season. The show follows Josh (played by Jay Baruchel), a single man who navigates his own dating life with absurdist and surreal twists (i.e. his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend is Hitler, he decides to surgically conjoin himself with his new live-in girlfriend, etc). It goes without saying that Man Seeking Woman is something we've never really seen before, and that's why its third season renewal is kind of a big, exciting deal. But when will Season 3 of Man Seeking Woman premiere?

According to Entertainment Weekly, the show will come out sometime in early 2017. Which means that we have a long way to go until another dose of Josh's antics come our way. For those of you who haven't watched the show, this could be a good thing. Time to catch up on the quirky comedy and sink your teeth into all of its truisms and hilarious metaphors about dating and love in the modern age. So, with that being said, here are some of Man Seeking Woman's best episodes that you should certainly watch before Season 3 premieres next year.

1. "Lizard" (Season 1, Episode 1)

The pilot sets the tone for what Man Seeking Woman does best. Full of whimsical metaphors, ridiculous side plots including Josh dating an actual bridge troll, and, underneath it all, a commitment to the profound truths about dating.

2. "Gavel" (Season 1, Episode 6)

A whole episode that centers around how Josh's boyfriend behavior holds up in "Relationship Court."

3. "Branzino" (Season 1, Episode 8)

In an on-the-nose representation of what it can feel like to move in with your new boyfriend or girlfriend, Josh and his beau elect to become surgically conjoined.

4. "Teacup" (Season 1, Episode 9)

The penultimate episode of Season 1 switches perspectives from Josh to Josh's sister, Liz (played by Britt Lower), who's reminded that her clock for getting married and having children is ticking when she goes to a tea party hosted by... let's just say some very advanced children.

5. "Wings" (Season 2, Episode 1)

The premiere of Season 2 puts Josh's friendship with the hilarious Mike (Eric André) at center stage.

6. "Tinsel" (Season 2, Episode 4)

Once again, the perspective in this episode changes from Josh to Liz. This time Liz becomes — I kid you not — Santa Clause's mistress.

7. "Balloon" (Season 2, Episode 10)

Naturally, if you're going to gear up for Season 3, you better prepare yourself with the way things ended in Season 2.

After you watch these, I've no doubts that you — like me — will be happy to know that Josh's search isn't over just yet.
