He's Way too Excited About 'Magic Mike 2'

by Christine DiStasio

We've found someone that might be more excited about Channing Tatum's Magic Mike 2 news than you are — Matt Bomer. The White Collar actor, who starred in 2012's Magic Mike, told Vulture that he definitely would want to reprise his role in its sequel. No details on the film have actually be released just yet — Channing Tatum only announced on Sunday via his Instagram that the previously rumored Magic Mike 2 was happening. But evidently, that was enough to get Bomer psyched about making his return to the stage as a male stripper.

Basically, Bomer would follow Tatum and his co-writer Reid Carolin to the ends of the Earth. He told Vulture:

I trust Channing and [co-writer] Reid [Carolin] implicitly, and I'm along for the ride however they'll have me. And there's only one character who gets a bust in that movie, and that is Dallas! So they got it in the right place, they're starting in the right place with this movie. I think everything's pretty under wraps right now, so I'll just wait to hear from them.

If that doesn't sound like a guy who's ridiculously excited about playing a male stripper again, I don't know what does. Bomer's even started doing his homework by "brainstorming" some character development ideas about Ken's appearance, the role he played in the 2012 film. He revealed:

I've had a lot of time to ponder it. I can't drop anything now. But I've been thinking about it, for sure. Maybe there will be a themed Ken Doll. Why not?

Yeah, why not? Bomer also expressed interest when asked if he'd join the upcoming Magic Mike: The Musical, but admitted that he'd prefer to leave it to the professionals. He's actually that excited.

So why is Bomer so ready to strip again? We've got five possible theories why he's more excited than you about Magic Mike 2:

HE'S SICK OF WEARING SUITS

It must be difficult to wear so much clothing every day.

HE WANTS THE WORLD TO SEE HIS BUTT...AGAIN

If you got it, flaunt it.

HE LOVES TO DANCE

And obviously he's good at it.

HE'S JUST SICK OF SHIRTS IN GENERAL

"I'll wearing everything but the shirt. No to the shirt"

HE FEELS HE'S FOUND HIS TRUE CALLING

I mean, he might be right...
