Celebrities React To Doris Roberts' Death

This past Sunday, legendary comedian Doris Roberts passed away at the age of 90. News of the Everybody Loves Raymond star's death was first reported by TMZ, and provoked an immediate outpouring of love and grief from celebrities all over the world. Throughout her long and storied career, Doris earned 11 Emmy nominations and five wins — one for a supporting turn on NBC's medical procedural St. Elsewhere, the other four all for her performance as Raymond's mother Marie.

Roberts' more recent TV credits included guest roles on the likes of Grey's Anatomy, Hot In Cleveland, and Desperate Housewives. She was equally prolific on the big screen, where you might have seen her in films like The Heartbreak Kid, The Rose, and — most likely — National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Roberts was set to reunite with her Everybody Loves Raymond cast this coming June at the ATX Television Festival in Austin.

Apart from her iconic role as Marie Barone, Roberts also warmed hearts with her charity work, being a long-time supporter of the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation as well as the Puppies Behind Bars program. It's no wonder she'll be greatly missed.

Here is just a small sampling of reactions to Doris Roberts' passing:

And best of all...

Ray Romano also released a statement:

Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped. Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a green young comic trying to make it as an actor, she did everything with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly.

RIP, Doris.
