Keke Palmer Is Proud Of Her Inner Beauty

On Wednesday, People released its highly anticipated 2016 World's Most Beautiful issue with Jennifer Aniston taking the honor for the second time (her first was in 2004). There are many things that make make Aniston beautiful, including her confidence, her talent, and of course, her physical beauty, too. But the idea of beauty is arbitrary and means a lot of things to a lot of different people, so as part of their World's Most Beautiful issue, People asked various women celebrities about the most beautiful thing ever said to them, and Keke Palmer's stood out to me as an inspiring message for her fans and just other women in general.

In answering what the most beautiful thing said to her was, the 22-year-old replied,

The most beautiful thing someone has ever said to me has probably been somewhere along the lines of "I feel your spirit" or "I love your spirit." Whenever I meet people and that's something that they say, something that's not physical, that makes me feel really awesome.

I think this is beautiful. We need more young women like Palmer speaking out about all the facets of beauty. To be honest, I think that's what makes women so powerful. Women can love to look good on the outside and take care of their bodies in whichever way they wish, but the inner spirit will always shine through, no matter what. Also, your inner spirit is you. There can never be anyone else with your spirit, so having that praised is the greatest compliment of all.

In her cover story, Aniston also spoke of her definition of true beauty. She said, "Inner confidence. Peace. Kindness. Honesty. A life well-lived." Yasss, Jen! Aniston has had years to teach herself this, which makes it all the more exciting that Palmer has embraced her own inner strength and recognized its beauty early on in life.

Khloé Kardashian was also another celeb who shared the most beautiful thing someone said to her, and she echoed Palmer's sentiment of the importance and beauty of the inner spirit. She told People ,

I think the most beautiful thing someone has ever said to me is that I make them happy, and I have a beautiful soul. I think that is the best thing you can tell someone, that their soul is pure and beautiful.

As a woman who goes through issues in confidence and body acceptance, it is refreshing to hear of other women, especially in entertainment, who are growing, looking in, and making sense of what beauty means to them.
