Liam Payne's Gone Solo On Juicy J's New Song

by Emily Lackey

My goodness, is today a good day to be alive. The sun is shining, the weather is warming, and Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, and Liam Payne just released a new song. The new song came as a relative surprise on Wednesday — “You” was made available on SoundCloud with pretty much no warning, a shocking move especially since it features former One Direction-er, Liam Payne. And even though the collaboration between Juicy J and Payne has been hinted at for some time, just when this rumored song would drop was still up in the air. So, leave it to Juicy J to give us the ultimate mid-week treat. And now that the song is here to for all of us to enjoy, I want to listen to it on all of my favorite streaming devices. But, is “You” available to stream on Spotify?

Before you go running to your Spotify app to listen to the new song, I’m going to need you to wait a sec. Because, unfortunately, it looks the song is not yet available on Spotify. It looks like we’ll all have to wait to add “You” to our favorite playlists and listen to it on repeat until these guys release another song together. Until then, though, the good news is that “You” is available on SoundCloud for free.

Now that that’s cleared up, I highly recommend listening to this new amazing collaboration between Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, and Payne if for no other reason than it features Payne on his first song without the other One Direction boys. Other highlights from the song include a sample of Adele’s record-breaking hit song “Hello,” and Payne himself singing soulfully about a mysterious “you.” The possibilities for speculation on who the "you" might be is better than anything else.

I mean, I know that so far, my favorite thing to do while I wait for the song to be available on Spotify is to listen to it on SoundCloud while I pretend that I am the unnamed “you” Liam Payne is singing to.

What? A Directioner can dream.
