A Rainbow Appeared Over Prince's Home

Although fans are still reeling over the sudden death of Prince at the age of 57 on Thursday, it appears that they aren't the only ones who are mourning the icon and looking for ways to honor his death. Believer it or not, nature is also paying homage to the singer. According to TMZ, a rainbow appeared over Prince's home mere hours after his death on Thursday. "Mourners were paying their respects outside Paisley Park when the rain stopped, the skies opened and the rainbow appeared," the site reported, and doesn't that just sound too good to be true? So, is it? I mean, really, is the rainbow over Prince's house real, or did someone just really go the extra mile when it came to paying tribute to a legend? (Or the extra mile when it came to celebrating Earth Day early?)

As it turns out, the rainbow did actually happen — and mourners present were just as shocked as everyone else to see the beautiful natural event occur. Of course, it seemed absolutely fitting that Prince should die on a rainy day (though it wasn't, you know, purple), and even more fitting that the sky should stop crying long enough to gift him with something as lovely as a rainbow. It was a perfect reflection of how much joy that Prince brought to his fans during his life, and it's the kind of thing that only happens once in a lifetime.

Or twice in a lifetime, actually, as TMZ also reports that there was a rainbow that appeared over Nancy Reagan's home after she passed away in March as well. I don't know if the skies are trying to tell us something about the living legends that we are losing, or if this is just a massive coincidence that only whatever higher power you believe in can explain, but I don't need a reason for this.

Because the fact of the matter is, the world lost true greatness the moment that Prince closed his eyes for the final time. The rainbow is real, the rainbow is fitting, and the rainbow is a heartwarming tribute from nature to an icon that will never be forgotten.
