The 'Views From The 6' Album Art Is Gorgeous

by Jordana Lipsitz

Drake is taking his Canadian-ness to the next level with his album Views From The 6, and I'm not mad about it. The title of the album, which is rumored to be coming out on April 29, is a direct reference to the area codes of Toronto, 416 and 647. But the meaning behind the Views From the 6 album art is even more Canada-heavy. Drizzy graced us with the album art on his Instagram Sunday the 24, and it is pretty epic looking and very Canada-themed. Artistic credit for the album goes to Caitlin Cronenberg, the photographer and Nicky Orenstein, the art director.

Hopefully, we will get samples of Drake's Canada-loving album on his upcoming Summer Sixteen Tour (tickets go on sale April 29 as well, and I'm just casually mentioning right now that my birthday is coming up very soon). April 29 is going to be a big day for Drake enthusiasts, what with the album release and the ticket sales. Its going to be a lot to take in, so everybody, just take it slow and don't get too excited — nobody wants to pop a blood vessel. So, what does this gorgeous album cover mean?

In the image, Drizzy is looking over his city, sitting on the CN Tower, which happens to be world's tallest building and free standing structure. Not too shabby, Canada. It's a cloudy day, and he's very small. I'm going to read into the cloudy smallness and claim that it means not everyday can be perfect, and we are all but small nothings — even Drake. However, it's also kinda saying that Drake is king of all he sees, because I'm reasonably certain most people aren't allowed to chill on top of the CN Tower like that. He is everything and nothing all at the same time. Whoa, deep.

Whatever Drake is trying to say, I couldn't be more excited about this upcoming album. Sure, he'll always be Jimmy from Degrassi in my heart, but it's nice to see him put on his big boy pants and make something amazing. The 6, here we come.
