Here's When You Can Buy Hi-C Ecto Cooler Again

Good news, nostalgic '80s and '90s babies! As a promotional tie-in for the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, Hi-C Ecto Cooler is hitting the market again for the first time since the '90s. After a long, long wait, you might be wondering: when is Hi-C Ecto Cooler is coming back? You won't be waiting much longer, my ghost-hunting comrades, because the drink will be hitting shelves on May 30 in the anticipation of the movie's July 15, 2016 release. You can officially stop living off the questionable remains of juice boxes you saved from the turn of the millennium and live your best, most ghostly life!

For those of you who need to get back up to speed with the sugary glory of Hi-C Ecto Cooler, it first hit the shelves in 1987, intended to be a short promotional gag for the first Ghostbusters film. Its popularity helped it live on for another 14 years, until it was discontinued in 2001. But now they're back, and in the most aggressive 2016 way ever — it hasn't even been released yet, but the drink now has its very own Twitter and Facebook pages. In case you weren't already pumped, this spooky tagline ought to do the trick: "One part slime. One part nostalgia. One part movie tie-in. One part fun. One part unknown. 100% Ecto."

Can't wait until May 30 to get your hands on some ecto-deliciousness? Try your luck with the Hi-C Ecto Cooler sweepstakes, and you might be one of the first people to try the 2016 edition of the drink. When it finally hits shelves, it will come in 10 packs of six ounce juice boxes and in six and 12 packs of 11.5 oz. aluminum cans. And just to add to the sweetness, the can version has thermal ink heating brilliance that turns it a ~super spooky~ shade of green when it's chilled. GOOD THING YOU AIN'T AFRAID OF NO GHOST.

To stay up-to-date with the Ecto hype, you can check in on their new promotional website. In the meantime, I'll be fangirling over Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth in the Ghostbusters trailer (and crossing my fingers that there will be plenty of Hi-C Ecto Cooler for sale at the theater).
