When Will Anna Kendrick's Book Come Out?

by Mary Grace Garis

You already know what hilarity she can brew with 180 characters, so imagine what she can do with 180 pages. Yes, sarcastic social media angel, Kate Spade's OG Miss Adventure, and pint-sized pitch perfect actress Anna Kendrick is getting a book. Monday Kendrick took to her much-adored Twitter account for the announcement of the to-be-titled Scrappy Little Nobody, saying "I have a book!! Why would anyone let me do this!?" Why hasn't anyone let her do this even earlier is the better question. And then there's the best question: When is Scrappy Little Nobody going to be available?

Well, the bad news is that it's going to be a while, but the good news is that you already have go-to gift to add to your Christmas list. The release date for Scrappy Little Nobody is November 15, and while that feels like potentially forever from now, you can already cement a copy for yourself. The official website for the book asserts that it's already ready to pre-order. So don't worry, even though November seems like forever away you can guarantee yourself a hardcover edition, audiobook or digital copy for your tablet by the time it comes out officially. Thank you, Internet.

If you're still not totally psyched, you need to get the hell out of town, because this already sounds like it has potential to be the last minute bestseller of 2016. Kendrick's collection of essays is set to document everything her upbringing in New England to her meteoric rise of power in Hollywood... but you know, it's casual. Really, it's her snarky and self-effacing cadence that makes us fall more and more in love with her, and Scrappy Little Nobody looks like it's going to offer plenty of that. Just listen to Kendrick talk about her book-writing expertise on the official book website to get a taste:

I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I'd like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself. And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I'm very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea.

Dead. Congratulations to Kendrick for her upcoming book, and many thanks to the universe for making this a reality.
