Larry Wilmore's Wildest Donald Trump Comments

by Stephanie Casella

This Saturday is the infamous White House Correspondents' Dinner, and popular comedian, Larry Wilmore, is slated to host the shebang. For those who have not seen the event, it's more or less a Comedy Central-style roast of major political personalities and related events of the year prior, with a slant to the president's side of the aisle — all of which makes Wilmore the perfect candidate to do some verbal damage. Wilmore has already promised to include jokes about "The Donald" in his set, which would not surprise many, given the history of Larry Wilmore roasting Donald Trump.

Although the announcement of Wilmore's hosting was made late last year, political fiends are now just beginning to feel the excitement for the upcoming humor and anger so destined to ensue. In an Obama White House, in his final term, and after Donald Trump was the unofficial leader of the "birther" movement, Wilmore has plenty of material to keep his promise, and to aptly wrap up President Obama's final year in the White House. In proper form of building some anticipation of what is to come on Saturday, here are some of the funniest things Wilmore has already said about Donald Trump:

The Time He Called For A Shut Down Of Donald Trump

In an episode of his show that aired on Dec. 8, Wilmore announced, "Tonight, GOP front-runner Donald Trump calls for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States, and I’m calling for a total and complete shutdown of Donald Trump’s mouth." Wilmore is clearly not a Trump fan.

The Time He Realized Satire Doesn't Work On Trump

How can one satirically mock somebody who is already making a mockery of himself? These are philosophical questions, really.

The Time He Used Michael Jordan To Make Fun Of Trump

He made fun of Ted Cruz's Wisconsin primary win using the Michael Jordan teary-eyed meme from the NCAA final game.

The Time He Reprimanded Eric And Ivanka Trump...

... for failing to vote for their own father for president of the United States by using the same Michael Jordan teary-eyed meme from the NCAA final game.

The Time He Publicly Questioned Whether Trump Has Become More 'Presidential'

It's a relative assessment to make, but most sources say probably not.

The Time The Nightly Show Brought Attention To Violence At Trump Rallies

Trump has nothing to do with that, though. Le sigh.

The Time He Got Really Controversial...

Oh man. In a very funny, but very controversial segment on The Nightly Show, Wilmore explained, "Anyway, since we’re talking about bigotry, we have to mention Donald Trump. Sorry everyone, I don’t want to give him any more oxygen. That’s not a euphemism by the way; I mean it literally. Somebody get me the pillow they used to kill Scalia, and I’ll do it. I’ll do it!” He realized his words could get him in some trouble, but what was said was said. Ouch.

Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Dinner is sure to have some surprising, offensive, and hilarious moments of its own. Honestly, nobody can predict what kind of verbal punch Wilmore will pack — but it's bound to get people talking.
