BAFTAs 2014: The Top Celeb Looks at the Chanel Pre-Party

Don’t get us wrong: Awards-show season fashion — both good and bad — is a blast to see and scrutinize. But sometimes, it’s what the celebrities wear before and after the awards shows that’s the real statement maker, as was the case with this weekend’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards. At one pre-party in particular, the Charles Finch & Chanel bash, celebs were decked out in head-to-toe Chanel, making for party full of tweed, quilted handbags, and stunningly dressed stars. 8. Naomie Harris

The Long Walk to Freedom actress looked gorgeous in a graphic brushstrokes dress, though we could have done without the restrictive shoulder and neckline details.

7. Olga Kurylenko

We love an LBD just as much as the next person, but the Bond girl would have looked even better with a simple red lip, colored heel, or piece of statement jewelry to spice up the basic look.

6. Alicia Vikander

Taking the more casual route, the Anna Karenina actress still managed to look très chic in leather leggings, a graphic blouse, and a basic blazer with a bright-red bag to boot.

5. Lily Allen

With her polished sheath dress and great graphic bag, the only thing stopping the British singer from sitting at the top of our list was the too-cutesy pearl accessory in her sleek side bun.

4. Amber Anderson

The graphic navy and chain-link number may be more appropriate for a daytime soiree, but the Your Highness actress rocked it out anyway with a smoky eye, chic bob, and bold red lip.

3. Alicia Sednaoui

Channeling Karl Lagerfeld’s dark, mysterious look in every way, the Italian-Egyptian actress and director nailed a cool-girl style in her cut-out dress, soft waves, and high socks.

2. Lupita Nyong'o

From the pastel pink that pops on her beautiful skin to her cute bag and metallic heels, Nyong’o looks like a ridiculously adorable lady who lunches in her flared-dress-and-jacket combo.

1. Poppy Delevingne

She may not be in the news as much as her sister Cara, but that doesn’t mean the elder Delevingne can’t pull off super-chic styles, too. With her burgundy fish-net gown, quilted handlebar bag, and simple Chanel belt, the model easily took home the pre-party best-dressed title.
