Here's How To Watch The 2016 WHCD Red Carpet

by Rosie Narasaki

Though ostensibly a night to celebrate journalists, the White House Correspondents' Dinner has turned into quite the glitzy affair. The speeches and revelry tend to be great in general, and the fashion is no exception. So, how can you watch the 2016 WHCD red carpet?

Back in 2013, E! Online hosted a red carpet special, but it seems to be an event they've since discontinued their coverage of the event. That said, you can still watch the arrivals — they'll just come without the dulcet tones of Ryan Seacrest et. al. Just head over to C-SPAN — they'll be airing the WHCD arrivals live starting at 6:00 PM EST on Apr. 30, and the broadcast will also be available on their free live streaming service as well. And if all else fails? You can always come back here and check out the red carpet highlights on Bustle (fingers crossed that Kerry Washington looks as amazing this year as she did last year).

At any rate, it's definitely not something to be missed: The WHCD may have earned its nickname of "nerd prom," but boy can they bring the fashion game — Michelle Obama has stunned year after year in various designer hits, and the revolving door of high-flying celebrities have been majorly stylish as well. Past fabulously dressed attendees include Lupita Nyong'o in polka-dotted Oscar de la Renta, Mindy Kaling in ruffled Christian Siriano, and Zooey Deschanel in lacy black and white (all of whom happened to sport bold pink lips):

This year's guest list is also quite promising — Quantico star Priyanka Chopra unfortunately dropped out, but at least people like Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, Jeff Goldblum, and Shonda Rhimes will be in attendance. Heck, even Lady Mary (AKA Michelle Dockery) will be dropping in, all the way from across the pond — so it's sure to be quite the stylish night.

Will you be tuning in this year? Between President Obama's signature sense of humor, Larry Wilmore's hosting, and all the fashionable bonanzaing going on, it's not exactly something to be missed.
