Calvin Harris & Rihanna Will Drop A New Single

by Kristie Rohwedder

Yeah yeah, I admit it: I am quick to declare a song The Jam Of Summer [Insert Year Here]. If a recording artist releases a piece of Top 40 ear candy anytime between the months of March and July and it’s love at first listen? I’m ready to pull the trigger and say it'll be one of the biggest tracks during the warmest time of year, if not the biggest track. But y’all, it’s for real this time. The dynamic duo of CalCal and RiRi joined forces once again and are about to release a song: “This Is What You Came For” by Calvin Harris and Rihanna will drop on Friday. And on Thursday morning, the Scottish DJ shared a snippet of the record. And I've yet to stop sweating.

Say it with me now: "This Is What You Came For" could be The Jam Of Summer 2k16. (You know, in addition to “Sorry” by Beyoncé, “Hold Up” by Beyoncé, and “Don’t Hurt Yourself” by Beyoncé. But come on, that should go without saying. Hey, Lemonade? We are not worthy, I bow to you and your perfection, what a gift to us all, etcetera.)

Why am I so confident that “This Is What You Came For” will be a smash of a single this summer? And why was I so sure “This Is What You Came For” would be a fire tune before I fired up the fire 30-second clip?

Three words: “We Found Love.”

Oh, and four more words: “Where Have You Been.”

If we can learn anything from history, it is this: RiRi and CalCal make magical and stunning and perfect and anthemic pop songs. And I am inclined to think “This Is What You Came For” will follow suit.

Also, will these jackets be on sale?

Because I'm ready to buy one, thanks.
