Everybody loves celebrating the fifth of May, and these Cinco de Mayo memes know exactly what I'm talking about. Even if you are not a big drinker, Cinco de Mayo is an excellent excuse to fill up on tacos and make jokes about mayonnaise (see memes below if you need some further elaboration on that). After all, there is way more to love about this holiday than simply downing margaritas.

If you are not really sure what exactly it is that Cinco de Mayo is celebrating, don't sweat it, because you are not alone. Most of America thinks that the holiday is like Mexico's version of Independence Day, and subsequently, most of America needs to pick up a history book a little more often — Mexico's Independence day is Sept. 16. So what does Cinco de Mayo celebrate? It is actually a date that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely win over the French during the Battle of Puebla. Now you know.
