Sophia Vergara Skipped The 2016 Met Gala

The annual Met Gala is a time for stars and designers to bring their style A-games, which is why many of us were so looking forward to Sofia Vergara's 2016 Met Gala look. But bummer alert, the gorgeous Modern Family star chose not to attend the event.

If past years were any indicator, the actress probably would have gone light on the "Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology" theme and more likely opted for a more traditional and curve-hugging ensemble that incorporated a few small futuristic accents. For last year's "China: Through The Looking Glass" theme she showed in a custom-made rose Marchesa gown with definite bridal undertones (especially since she attended with her then fiancé, now husband, Joe Manganiello).

Regardless of whether she would have showed in an on-theme ensemble or not not, it's safe to say that she was definitely missed this year. Vergara is always one of the liveliest stars on the red carpet and completes each and every look with her signature laugh and smile.

Oh, and let's not forget about the second-most missed part of the carpet this year — Joe Manganiello.
