Ariana Grande's "Into You" Is Mighty Steamy

by Kristie Rohwedder

If you've ever wondered when might be a good time to throw your hair into a celebratory half ponytail, that time is now: The pop star formerly known as Cat Valentine will be releasing a new jam very, very soon. And by "very, very soon," I mean "today." Ariana Grande will drop new song "Into You" on Thursday. To prepare Arianators for the latest track off of to-be-released album Dangerous Woman, the "Break Free" singer 'grammed and snapped a few snippets of the tune, and whew, if the clips are to be believed, "Into You" is a catchy fireball of a banger. I suppose I better find my heat-resistant baseball glove before the entire song hits the web tonight.

Long before I listened to these excerpts, I had a hunch I'd be a huge fan of this particular Ari G. track. And said hunch came to be the second I read that "Into You" was produced by music deities Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh. Yes, the two gents who helped make pop gems like "Confident" by Demi Lovato, "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding, and "Problem" by Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea happen also helped make "Into You" happen. So yes, I am ready to give this song all of my money.

Now, what might "Into You" be about? Based on what I've heard, I think it's safe to say it's about being into someone and wanting to, uh... canoodle with that someone. If you would be so kind, please take a gander at the song's chorus:

So baby come light me up and maybe I'll let you on it

A little bit dangerous, but baby, that's how I want it

A little less conversation and a little more touch my body

‘Cause I'm so into you, into you, into you

Oh. Oh, my. If that isn't a steamy little steam pot of a chorus!

*Rings bell.* ...Hm, that doesn’t quite capture my joy, so let me try again. *Sets off fireworks.* ...Eh, that’s pretty good, but I thiiiiink I could take it a few steps further. *Rents a skywriter.* *Pilots skywriter to cloudless patch of sky.* *Writes “NEW ARI SONG 2NITE LET US REJOICE” in the sky.* *Parachutes out of skywriter plane.* Ah, there we go!
