Big Changes in store for the next 'Bond'

by Anna Klassen

No, Daniel Craig isn't leaving. No, Judy Dench won't be return from the dead and resurrect her role as hard-headed M. And no, Bond 24, which is set to be released in November of next year, doesn't even have a name yet. But one thing we know for certain we won't be seeing in the next Ian Fleming-inspired installment is more of that gorgeous cinematography. Skyfall cinematographer Roger Deakins won't return for Bond 24, which for the uniniated might not seem like a big deal, but if you enjoyed Skyfall on any level, chances are, your enjoyment was in large part due to Deakins.

Remember those opening credits — Bond slowly sinking to the bottom of the ocean, only to be plucked by a large hand while Adele's "Skyfall" croons in the background? It. Was. Epic. But now, the man behind the film's most glorious sequences will need to be replaced. He's currently working on Angelina Jolie's Unbroken, and acting as a consultant for How to Train Your Dragon 2.

The news of Deakins' absence was announced on twitter via Kristopher Tapley:

So how will the next Bond film suffer? We'll still have Sam Mendes as a director and John Logan penning the script, but who will take over Deakins' integral part in the film?
