Blac Chyna Really Wants To Make Things Official

It's been an entire weekend since Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna's pregnancy announcement, but I'm still wrapping my head around the news. Since these lovebirds didn't spare any time getting engaged, a baby was inevitably the next step. I just didn't expect it to happen so quickly. Yet lo and behold, a pregnant Chyna emoji appeared on Instagram and the rest is history. Although a wedding date has yet to be set, TMZ reports the couple took another step towards making things official: Blac Chyna filed a trademark claim for the name Angela Renee Kardashian. Like all other aspects of ChyRo's relationship, I'm thinking, "Whoa, already?!?!?"

Bustle has reached out to Chyna regarding TMZ's report, but has not yet heard back.

While my inner optimist hopes that Rob and Chyna are truly in love, trademarking her new name before even getting married certainly makes me unsure about her intentions. Whether you love or hate the famous family, there's no denying there's power attached to the Kardashian brand. Chyna's full name is Angela Renee White, yet everybody knows her by her professional name. The fact that she'd forsake "Blac Chyna" to become "Angela Kardashian" unfortunately suggests she could be marrying Rob for his name, not his heart.

Not to rain on their parade, but come on, there are only two options here. The first is that Chyna is marrying Rob for his last name and the fame that comes with it. After all, the legal doc that TMZ reportedly obtained says this name is to be used for "entertainment services," which are listed as "live, televised and move appearances by a professional entertainer" and "personal appearances by a social media celebrity, model, actress and performer." "Conducting parties" is also included on the doc. Sounds like she wants to be a Kardashian to host parties and get a TV show, right?

Of course, the second possible explanation is that Chyna is so madly in love with the 29-year-old that she was just so excited to take his last name and couldn't wait for her wedding day to claim it. Honestly, I sincerely hope they're together for love — not some plan to gain fame and attention. My heart can't handle another quick wedding à la Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, where it seemed sincere, but then was over almost instantly. If this is all building up for some kind of TV wedding and inevitable divorce, then that'd be beyond disappointing.

Just like his siblings, Rob deserves true happiness, so I hope Chyna is with him for the right reasons.
