The Highlights from Fallon's Third Night

by Christine DiStasio

It's been a stellar week so far for Jimmy Fallon's late-night debut — and he's showing no signs of stopping. On Wednesday night The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon featured hilarious segments of a mash-up video of Brian Williams rapping Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" and another of Jonah Hill, Fallon, and Martin Scorsese having a "hashtag chat". Just when you thought it couldn't get better than his star-studded premiere episode and Kristen Wiig's Harry Styles impression on Tuesday night — Fallon did it again.

Other notable moments from Wednesday night's episode included American Hustle's Bradley Cooper, Saving Mr. Banks and awards show badass Emma Thompson, and Tim McGraw playing charades and Fallon's "Kid Inventors" segment. But really, we all know that Fallon's mash-up stole the show with his latest Brian Williams video. Once again, they pieced together a bunch of old news clips that made it appear like the Nightly News anchor was actually rapping Sugarhill Gang's 1979 hit. The video also featured cameos from Weekend anchor Lester Holt and Today cohost Kathie Lee Gifford.

Fallon's team previously aired a mash-up video of the anchor performing Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's "Good Vibrations" in July 2013. Watch the video here:

The second hilarious segment featured Fallon and Wolf of Wall Street star and director, Jonah Hill and Martin Scorsese. According to the late-night host, he and Hill spend so much time on Twitter that it affects how they talk to each other in real life. (The best part of the video might be Scorsese interjecting at the end, but watching Jonah Hill say "hashtag blessed" might be the greatest thing we've seen all week.) Watch here:

We're feeling "hashtag blessed" that you exist, Jimmy Fallon.
