Kimora Lee Simmons is married & other news we miss from these 8 old reality shows
Since Kimora Lee Simmons is no longer making fashionable appearances on reality television, we managed to miss the fact that Kimora Lee Simmons got remarried to Goldman Sachs banker, Tim Leissner—and has been for awhile now. Well, how did we finally find out? Simmon's ex-husband, Russell Simmons, spilled the dirt on Twitter after rumors were swirling around the model about an alleged relationship with rapper Birdman.
"All of us love @OfficialKimora but the fact is she is happily married. . Tim is has been family for a while now. #gossipcop....," Simmons tweeted.
If only Simmons was still on television, we would know the juicy details about her love life. While there is currently no promise that the mogul will appear again on her own show, we might as well reminisce about the reality shows that stole our hearts, but were cruelly cancelled. Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica anyone?
Life In the Fab Lane
Kimora, you diva you. The former fashion model and founder of Baby Phat appeared with her three children, boyfriend, and ex-husband on several seasons of the Style Network’s Life in the Fab Lane. With her ferocious business sense, bubbly personality, and no-nonsense attitude, we immediately came to regard Simmons as one of our make-believe BFFs. We loved watching her run an empire and raise her three children. It reminded us that women can truly have their cake and eat it, too.

Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica
Before Jessica Simpson was famous for losing weight, Simpson and ex-husband and boy bander Nick Lachey were married and starred in one of the first reality shows about a celebrity couple. Simpson was at the height of her pop career and Lachey was fresh of the 90s success of his boy band, 98 Degrees. They were gorgeous, young, rich, and newly-married—the perfect elements for a juicy television show. The show aired all of the couple’s dirty laundry—literally. We watched as Jessica couldn’t manage to do her laundry or clean her bedroom, how the couple bickered over house decorating, Nick’s constant requests for more sexy time, and Jessica’s infamous airhead moments, including her first taste of Chicken of the Sea. All in all, it was truly an entertaining time on television, but much like their marriage, the show eventually soured. It’s too bad—Nick and Jessica will always have a special place in my heart and shamelessly on my YouTube frequently watched playlist.

The Gastineau Girls
Move over, Kim Kardashian. The original princess of reality television on E! was none other than Kardashian’s gal pal, Brittny Gastineau, for two seasons of The Gastineau Girls. Alongside her mother, Lisa, the two women gallivanted through New York City’s inner circle, spending lavishly while Lisa searched for love and Brittny pursued a modeling career. They were the glamorous mother-daughter duo to grace television before the Kardashians moved in. Nevertheless, we miss these two ladies and hope to see more of them on television—perhaps in a new episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Run's House
Minister, rapper, and music producer Rev Run from Run-D.M.C got to play a different part on his family’s reality show, Run’s House, on MTV for six seasons beginning in 2005. Rev Run, his wife, and their six children entertained us with their pretty normal family problems, disputes, and blossoming careers in music, fashion, and entertainment. But, it was Run’s surprising charm and humor that added the cherry on top of this adorable show. While we miss them on their own show, we have been spotting them back in the limelight in a commercial for AT&T’s Beats Music and for the recent birth of Run’s first grandchild from daughter, Vanessa.

My Super Sweet 16
Every teenager approaching age 16 drew inspiration for their dream sweet 16 birthday party from MTV’s My Super Sweet 16. The show featured over-the-top teenagers who found joy out of publicly berating their parents and cried over getting the wrong car all in the process of planning the ultimate birthday celebration. It was the daydream of every teenager and the nightmare of every parent.

The Simple LIfe
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie found their first legitimate claim to fame—aside from being the children of famous millionaires and music stars—on their reality show, The Simple Life. They famously spent five seasons touring America performing manual labor at low-paying jobs and complaining every step of the way. It was the best trip we’ve ever taken from our couches.

The Girls Next Door
For the first time, America got the chance to take a peak inside the Playboy Mansion and actually stay for the afternoon with E!’s reality show, The Girls Next Door. The show chronicled the lives of Hugh Hefner’s three main girlfriends who lived with him in the mansion. The show rocketed the three women to reality show fame and garnered them spots on the cover of Playboy, their own spin-off reality shows, book deals, and permanent spots in our hearts. While we expected a show about the Playboy Mansion to be the most crude and ridiculous event on television, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the women were as down to earth as the title suggests—only clad in lingerie.

I Love New York
Tiffany Pollard rose to fame on one of VH1’s very first corny matchmaking reality shows as a contestant on Flavor of Love. It wasn’t until she won her own spin-off show, I Love New York, that we realized how much we really did love Miss Pollard. A self-proclaimed HBIC, we grew to appreciate Pollard’s dramatic personality and even flashier fake eyelashes. Maybe Miss New York needs one more round of love on television.
